The next morning some Jews gathered secretly to conspire against Paul. They all promised that they wouldn’t eat or drink anything until they had killed him.
Then I was told that they’d made a plan to kill him. So I sent him to you at once. I also ordered those who were accusing him to present their case to you.
But don’t let them persuade you, because more than 40 of them will be hiding and waiting to attack him. They’ve promised that they won’t eat or drink anything until they’ve killed him. They’re ready now, just waiting for you to bring Paul to the Sanhedrin.”
They tried very hard to get Festus to bring Paul to Jerusalem as a favor to them. They asked for this because they were planning to hide and try to kill Paul along the way.
I’ve had to keep on the move constantly. I’ve been in danger from rivers, in danger from robbers, in danger from my fellow Jews, and in danger from Gentiles. I’ve been in danger in the city, in the country, and at sea. I’ve been in danger from people who pretended they were believers.
by trying to keep us from speaking to the Gentiles in order that they can be saved. By doing that, they’re continually increasing their sins to the maximum. But God’s anger has come on them at last.
