“Aren’t you that Egyptian who started a revolt and led 4,000 terrorists out into the desert some time ago?”

“So if anyone tells you, ‘He’s out in the desert,’ don’t go out there. And if anyone says, ‘He’s deep inside the house,’ don’t believe it.

When others say bad things about us, we answer with kind words. We’ve become the world’s garbage, and we’re still everybody’s trash even now.

“Blessed are you when, because of me, people insult you and attack you and falsely accuse you of doing all kinds of bad things.

A man named Barabbas was in prison with some others who had committed murder in a rebellion against Rome.

(Barabbas had been thrown into prison because he’d led a revolt in the city against the authorities, during which he had committed murder.)
