The whole city was stirred up and people came running from all directions. They grabbed Paul and dragged him out of the temple. They closed the temple gates behind him so that he couldn’t get back in to safety.

That’s why some Jews seized me in the temple courtyard and tried to kill me.

I’ve had to keep on the move constantly. I’ve been in danger from rivers, in danger from robbers, in danger from my fellow Jews, and in danger from Gentiles. I’ve been in danger in the city, in the country, and at sea. I’ve been in danger from people who pretended they were believers.

Soon the whole city was upset. The people dragged Gaius and Aristarchus, two men who’d come with Paul from Macedonia, into the assembly hall.

They got up, ran Jesus out of town, and took him to the edge of the hill on which the town was built. They were planning to throw him off the cliff,

When Jesus entered Jerusalem, the whole city was stirred up. The people asked, “Who is this?”

When King Herod heard about this, he became very concerned, as did everyone else in Jerusalem.
