After we had been there for several days, a prophet named Agabus came down from Judea.

One of them, named Agabus, stood up and said through the Spirit that there would be a famine all over the world, which happened when Claudius was emperor.

We found some disciples there and stayed with them for seven days. Led by the Holy Spirit, they tried to keep Paul from going on to Jerusalem.

Paul had decided to sail past Ephesus because didn’t want to spend too much time in the province of Asia. He was in a hurry to get to Jerusalem because he wanted to be there if possible by the day of Pentecost.

Continuing on from Tyre, we landed at Ptolemais. There we greeted the brothers and sisters and stayed with them for a day.

Jesus was born in Bethlehem in Judea while Herod was king. Wise men then came from the east to Jerusalem
