I left you on the island of Crete because I wanted you to take care of some unfinished business. I wanted you to appoint elders in every town, and I told you how to do that.

and they sent Barnabas and Saul with their gift to the elders.

Elders who lead the church well should be honored both with respect and with financial support. This is especially true of elders who preach and teach.

Is anyone among you sick? Then that person should send for the elders of the church to come and pray for them and anoint them with olive oil in the name of the Lord.

Keep watch over yourselves and all the believers that the Holy Spirit has made you leaders over. Be shepherds of God’s church, which he bought with his own blood.

Paul and Barnabas appointed people who’d trusted in the Lord to be elders in each church. They prayed and fasted and committed the elders to the Lord’s care.

I want to appeal to the elders among you as someone who’s an elder himself. I also appeal to you as a witness of Christ’s sufferings and as someone who will share in the glory that’s going to be revealed.

Paul and his group traveled from town to town, reporting what the apostles and elders in Jerusalem had decided the people should do.

Here’s the letter they sent with them: From the apostles and elders, your brothers. To the Gentile believers in Antioch, Syria, and Cilicia. Greetings.

The apostles and elders met to consider this question.

When Paul and Barnabas arrived in Jerusalem, the church and the apostles and elders welcomed them. Then they reported everything God had done through them.

When they arrived at Ephesus, Paul asked Priscilla and Aquila to stay there. He himself went into the synagogue and talked with the Jews.

and the next day we sailed from there and arrived near Chios. The day after that we crossed over to Samos, and the following day we arrived at Miletus.
