May our Lord Jesus Christ and God our Father encourage your hearts and make you strong in every good thing that you do and say. God loved us and by his grace he has given us good hope and encouragement that will last forever.

And we urge you, brothers and sisters, to warn certain people who don’t want to work and who are being disruptive. Encourage those who have lost hope, help those who are weak, and be patient with everyone.

He’s the God who gives all comfort, comforting us in all our troubles. As a result, we can comfort others when they’re in trouble, using the comfort that we’ve received from God.

So encourage one another and build each other up, just as in fact you are doing.

So encourage one another with these words.

I’m sending him to you because I want you to know how we are and because I want him to encourage you.

Then Paul went upstairs again and broke bread and ate with the people. He kept on talking until it was daylight, and then he left.

Paul wanted to travel by himself for a while, so he arranged to walk to Assos alone. The rest of us went on ahead to the ship and sailed to Assos.
