Acts 20:1

After the riot was over, Paul sent for the disciples. He encouraged them and said goodbye, and then he left for Macedonia.

When we came to Macedonia, we weren’t able to rest. There was trouble all around. We had battles on the outside and fears on the inside.

After all this had happened, Paul decided to go over to Macedonia and Achaia and then on to Jerusalem. “And after I’ve been there,” he said, “I must also visit Rome.”

As I told you when I went into Macedonia, I want you to stay there in Ephesus. I need you to command certain people not to teach things that aren’t true and not to spend their time on made-up stories

During the night Paul had a vision. He saw a man from Macedonia standing across the water and begging him, “Come over to Macedonia and help us!”

When he found him, he brought him back with him to Antioch. For a whole year Barnabas and Saul met with the church and taught large numbers of people. It was there at Antioch that the disciples were first called Christians.

From there we traveled to Philippi, which is a Roman colony and the most important city in that part of Macedonia. We stayed there several days.

He traveled through that area, speaking many words of hope to the people. He arrived in Greece,

where he stayed for three months. He was just about to sail for Syria, but he found out that some Jews were plotting against him. So he decided to go back through Macedonia instead.

through the power of signs and wonders, and through the power of the Spirit of God. I have now preached the good news about Christ to everyone from Jerusalem all the way around to Illyricum.
