God made these plans for people to become like his Son, and he called those people to be saved. Then he made those people right with himself, and finally, he them gave his glory.

There is one body and one Spirit, just as you were called to one hope when you were called.

God knows the human heart, and he showed that he accepted the Gentiles by giving the Holy Spirit to them, just as he did to us.

After you’ve suffered for a little while, the God of all grace will restore you and make you strong, firm, and steadfast. He has called you to share in his eternal glory in Christ.

Then the angel told me, “Write this: Blessed are those who are invited to the wedding supper of the Lamb!” Then he added, “These are the true words of God.”

God’s power has given us everything we need to lead a godly life. We have come to know the God who called us by his own glory and goodness.

That’s why Christ is the mediator of a new covenant. Now the people that God has called to himself can receive the eternal gift he promised. They can receive it because Christ has died to pay the price and set them free from the sins they committed under the first covenant.

They’ll fight a war against the Lamb, but the Lamb will win the victory over them. That’s because he’s the most powerful Lord of all and the greatest King of all. His appointed, chosen, and faithful followers will be with him.”

My brothers and sisters, make every effort to show that God has called you to be saved. If you do everything I’ve just said, you’ll never trip and fall.

God has saved us and called us to live a holy life. This isn’t because of anything we’ve done, but because of his own purpose and grace. This grace was given to us in Christ Jesus even before time began.

I also pray that you may understand more clearly. That way you’ll know the hope that God has called you to, the glorious riches that God will give his holy people,

God doesn’t take back his gifts or change his mind about those he has chosen.

Holy brothers and sisters, who take part in God’s calling, I want you to focus your attention on Jesus, who is the messenger and high priest of our faith.

An unbelieving husband is made holy through his wife, and an unbelieving wife is made holy through her believing husband. If that weren’t true, your children wouldn’t be clean. But since it is true, they are holy.

Keeping this in mind, we pray for you constantly. We pray that God will make you worthy of his calling and, by his power, make every good thing you want to do come true. We pray that he will make perfect everything you’ve done by faith.

We are those people. He has chosen us not only from the Jews but also from the Gentiles. As

They’ve been adopted as God’s children. God’s glory belongs to them, and so do the covenants. They received the law and they were taught to worship in the temple. They were given the promises,

Simon Peter has described for us how God chose some of the Gentiles to be among his very own people.

The church sent them on their way, and as they traveled through Phoenicia and Samaria, they told how the Gentiles had turned to God. This news made all the believers very glad.

When they arrived in Antioch, they gathered the church together and told everything that God had done through them. They shared how he had opened a way for the Gentiles to believe.

They began to praise God by speaking in unknown languages. When the Jewish believers who’d come with Peter heard this, they were amazed that the gift of the Holy Spirit was being poured out even on Gentiles. Peter said,

Remember that you used to be separated from Christ. You weren’t considered to be citizens of Israel, and so you didn’t have a share in what the covenants promised. You were without hope and without God in the world.
