Paul had some friends who were officials in the province, and they also sent him a message begging him not to go into the hall.

This went on for two years, so that all the Jews and Greeks who lived in the province of Asia heard the word of the Lord.

When we heard this, we all begged Paul not to go up to Jerusalem.

Paul and his group traveled all through the area of Phrygia and Galatia, looking for a place to stop and preach the word. But the Holy Spirit didn’t let them stop there, or farther west in the province of Asia, either.

A man with a skin disease came to Jesus, knelt down in front of him, and begged him, “If you’re willing, you can make me clean.”

Soon the whole city was upset. The people dragged Gaius and Aristarchus, two men who’d come with Paul from Macedonia, into the assembly hall.

Paul wanted to appear in front of the crowd himself, but the disciples wouldn’t let him.

Everyone was confused. Some were shouting one thing while others were shouting something else. Most of the people didn’t even know why they were there.
