After Silas and Timothy arrived from Macedonia, Paul spent all his time preaching, showing the Jews that Jesus is the Messiah.

Christ’s love doesn’t give us any other choice. We’re convinced that one person died for everyone, and so everyone died.

In public meetings, he argued sharply against Jews who disagreed with him, proving from the Scriptures that Jesus is the Messiah.

I told both Jews and Greeks that they had to turn away from their sins to God and have faith in our Lord Jesus.

He explained and proved that the Messiah had to suffer and rise from the dead. “This Jesus I’m telling you about is the Messiah!” he said.

But Saul got better and better at proving that Jesus is the Messiah, and none of the Jews living in Damascus could answer his arguments.

I can’t decide between the two. I long to depart and be with Christ. That would be better by far.

“So be sure of this, all you Israelites. God has made Jesus, the one you nailed to the cross, both Lord and Messiah.”

With the help of Silas, who I consider to be a faithful brother, I’ve written you this short letter to encourage you and to confirm that this is the true grace of God. Remain strong in it.

During the night Paul had a vision. He saw a man from Macedonia standing across the water and begging him, “Come over to Macedonia and help us!”

Paul then went to Derbe and to Lystra, where a disciple named Timothy lived. His mother was Jewish and a believer, but his father was a Greek.

Then the apostles, elders, and the whole church decided to choose some of their own men and send them to Antioch with Paul and Barnabas. They chose Judas Barsabbas and Silas, who were leaders among the believers.

He commanded us to preach to the people and tell them that he is the one God appointed to judge the living and the dead.

But as far as we’re concerned, we have to speak about the things we’ve seen and heard.”

You must also be witnesses about me, because you’ve been with me from the beginning.

The Jewish leaders surrounded him and demanded, “How long are you going to keep us in suspense? If you’re the Messiah, come right out and say so.”

You yourselves heard me say, ‘I’m not the Messiah, I was sent ahead of him.’

The first thing Andrew did was find his brother Simon and tell him, “We’ve found the Messiah!” (Messiah means Christ.)

But I have a baptism of suffering to go through, and I must go through it.

I have five brothers. Let Lazarus warn them so that they won’t come to this place of terrible suffering.’

From there we traveled to Philippi, which is a Roman colony and the most important city in that part of Macedonia. We stayed there several days.

I only know that the Spirit has been warning me in every city that I will face prison and suffering.

But I’m not going to try to save my own life. My only goal is to finish the race and complete the work that the Lord Jesus has given me, to tell others the good news about God’s grace.

Silas, Timothy, and I preached to you about the Son of God, Jesus Christ, and he is not “Yes” and “No.” He’s always “Yes,”

When I was with you and needed something, I didn’t make you pay for it. The believers who came from Macedonia provided everything I needed. I haven’t made you pay for anything at all, and I won’t ever do that.

But just now Timothy has come to us from you, and he has brought good news about your faith and love. He has told us that you always have happy memories of us and that you long to see us just as we long to see you.
