When Priscilla and Aquila heard him speaking boldly in the synagogue, they invited him to their home. There they gave him a fuller understanding of the way of God.

So let’s move on beyond the basic teachings about Christ and grow up as believers. Let’s not start all over from the beginning. We already know that we need to turn away from doing things that lead to death. We know that we must have faith in God.

The eye can’t say to the hand, “I don’t need you!” The head can’t say to the feet, “I don’t need you!”

Apollos had been taught the way of the Lord, and he spoke with great passion. He taught the truth about Jesus, even though he knew only about John’s baptism.

Paul and Barnabas spent a lot of time there, speaking boldly for the Lord. He gave them the ability to do signs and wonders, and in this way, the Lord showed that they were telling the truth about his grace.

So grow in the grace and knowledge of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. May he receive glory both now and forever. Amen.

Don’t fool yourselves. If any of you think you’re wise by the standards of the world, you should become “fools” so that you can become truly wise.

They arranged to meet with Paul on a certain day. When it came, even more of the Jewish leaders went to the place where he was staying. From morning until evening, he told them about the kingdom of God. He used the Law of Moses and the Prophets to try to convince them about Jesus.

“How can I,” he replied, “unless someone explains it to me?” So he invited Philip to come up and sit with him.

If anyone chooses to do God’s will, they’ll know whether my teaching comes from God or from me.

Jesus explained to them what was said about himself in all the Scriptures, beginning with Moses and all the Prophets.

“The master replied, ‘I tell you that to everyone who has, more will be given. But as for those who have nothing, even what they do have will be taken away from them.

Truly I tell you, anyone who doesn’t receive the kingdom of God like a little child will never enter it.”

Those who think they know something still don’t know as they should.

Paul stayed in Corinth for some time after that. When he left the brothers and sisters and sailed for Syria, Priscilla and Aquila went with him. Before he sailed, he had his hair cut off at Cenchreae, the harbor that served Corinth. He did this because he’d made a vow to God.

Paul entered the synagogue and spoke boldly there for three months. He gave good reasons for believing the truth about the kingdom of God.
