They began to make accusations against him. They said, “We’ve found this man leading our people astray. He says they shouldn’t pay taxes to Caesar, and he claims to be the Messiah—a king.”

They want us to start doing things that are against Roman law. We can’t agree to or take part in things like that.”

From then on, Pilate tried to set Jesus free. But the Jewish leaders kept shouting, “If you let this man go, you’re not Caesar’s friend! Anyone who claims to be a king is against Caesar!”

By doing good, you’ll stop to the talk of foolish people who don’t know what they’re saying. This is what God wants you to do.

As Jesus was on his way with his disciples, he came to a certain village, and there a woman named Martha welcomed him into her home.

But other Jews were jealous. They rounded up some troublemakers from the marketplace, formed a mob, and started a riot in the city. The Jews rushed to Jason’s house to look for Paul and Silas because they wanted to bring them out to the crowd.

When the crowd and the city officials heard this, there was an uproar.

In the same way, even Rahab the prostitute was considered to be right with God because of what she did for the spies. She gave them a place to stay and then sent them off safely in a different direction.
