As soon as it was night, the believers sent Paul and Silas away to Berea. When they arrived there, they went to the Jewish synagogue.

If people attack you in one place, escape to another. Truly I tell you, you won’t finish going through the towns of Israel before the Son of Man comes.

Paul then went to Derbe and to Lystra, where a disciple named Timothy lived. His mother was Jewish and a believer, but his father was a Greek.

When the other believers found out about this, they took Saul down to Caesarea, and from there they sent him off to Tarsus.

but his followers helped him escape by night. They lowered him in a basket through an opening in the wall.

I left you on the island of Crete because I wanted you to take care of some unfinished business. I wanted you to appoint elders in every town, and I told you how to do that.

where he stayed for three months. He was just about to sail for Syria, but he found out that some Jews were plotting against him. So he decided to go back through Macedonia instead.

He sent two of his helpers, Timothy and Erastus, to Macedonia. But he stayed a little longer in the province of Asia.

Then the apostles, elders, and the whole church decided to choose some of their own men and send them to Antioch with Paul and Barnabas. They chose Judas Barsabbas and Silas, who were leaders among the believers.

In those days there were about 120 believers. Peter stood up among them to speak.

He won over some of the Jews, who joined him and Silas. A large number of Greeks who worshiped God joined them too, as did quite a few important women.

But they didn’t find them there, so they dragged Jason and some of the other believers to the city officials. “Those men who’ve upset the entire world have now come here!” they shouted.

The believers who went with Paul took him to Athens. Then they returned with the message that Silas and Timothy should join him there as soon as possible.

After Silas and Timothy arrived from Macedonia, Paul spent all his time preaching, showing the Jews that Jesus is the Messiah.
