When the jailer woke up and saw that the prison doors were open, he pulled out his sword to kill himself, thinking the prisoners had escaped.
Herod searched everywhere for him, but he couldn’t find him. So he suspected the guards. He questioned them and ordered them to be put to death. Herod then went from Judea to stay in Caesarea.
So Judas threw the money into the temple and left. Then he went away and hanged himself.
But Paul shouted, “Don’t hurt yourself! We’re all here!”
The jailer told Paul, “The judges have ordered me to set you and Silas free. You can leave now. Go in peace.”
