Don’t eat food that has been offered to statues of gods. Don’t drink blood. Don’t eat meat that still has blood in it. And don’t be involved in sexual immorality. You will do well to keep away from such things. Farewell.

Instead, we should write to them and tell them that they must not eat food that has been offered to statues of gods. They must not be sexually immoral, they must not eat meat that still has blood in it, and they must not drink blood.

‘But I hold you responsible for this. You’re tolerating that woman Jezebel, who calls herself a prophet. She has led my servants into sexual sin by her teaching and she has tricked them into eating food offered to idols.

‘But I hold you responsible for a few things. Some of you are following the teaching of Balaam, who showed Balak how to lead the people of Israel into sin. They ate food offered to idols and they committed sexual sins.

Now God is able to keep you from falling and bring you with great joy into his heavenly glory without any fault.

Dear children, keep yourselves away from idols.

Religion that God our Father accepts as pure and faultless is to take care of widows and orphans who are in trouble and not let the world contaminate you.

Don’t be too quick to place your hands on others to set them apart to serve God. If it turns out that they’re involved in sin, it will look as if you approve. Keep yourself pure.

Finally, brothers and sisters, be joyful! Work to make everything right with one another. Encourage one another and agree with each other. Live in peace. And the God of love and peace will be with you.
