The Lord’s power was with them, and large numbers of people believed and turned to the Lord.
God. All the people thought well of them. Every day the Lord added to their group more people who were being saved.
Everyone who heard what had happened wondered about it. Because the Lord was with John, they asked, “What is this child going to become?”
because our good news didn’t just come to you through our words. It came with power, with the Holy Spirit, and with great confidence. You know what we went through for your sake when we were with you.
When those who lived in Lydda and Sharon saw this, they turned to the Lord.
So God’s word kept spreading. The number of disciples in Jerusalem grew quickly, and a large number of priests began to obey Jesus’ teachings.
More and more men and women believed in the Lord and became part of the community.
But many of the people who heard their message put their trust in Jesus. The total number of men who were believers grew to about 5,000.
“Now here is my decision. We shouldn’t hinder the Gentiles from turning to God.
