When she and her family were baptized, she invited us to her home. “If you consider me a believer in the Lord,” she said, “then come and stay at my house.” She convinced us to make her home our base of operations.
The men answered, “We’ve come from Cornelius, a Roman commander. He’s a good man who worships God. All the Jewish people respect him. A holy angel told him to invite you to his house so he could hear what you have to say.”
But these signs have been written down so that you may believe that Jesus is the Messiah, the Son of God, and that by believing, you may have life in his name.
The synagogue leader Crispus and everyone living in his house came to believe in the Lord. Many others who lived in Corinth heard Paul, and they too believed and were baptized.
