Then the Jewish leaders took Jesus from Caiaphas to the palace of the Roman governor. By now it was early morning. The Jewish leaders didn’t enter the palace, because they didn’t want to be made unclean. They wanted to be able to eat the Passover meal. So

He said, ‘Cornelius, God has heard your prayers and remembered your gifts to the poor.

So I sent for you right away, and it was good of you to come. Now we are all here, and God is also with us, so we are ready to listen to everything the Lord has commanded you to tell us.”

They said, “You went into the house of Gentiles and ate with them.”

Now get up and go into the city. You’ll be told there what you must do.”

Peter stayed in Joppa for some time, in the home of a man named Simon who worked with leather.

Now send some messengers to Joppa to bring back a man named Simon, who’s also called Peter.

He has a message to bring to you, and you and your whole family will be saved through it.’

After they’d talked it over for some time, Peter got up and spoke. “Brothers,” he said, “you know that some time ago God chose me to take the good news to the Gentiles. He wanted them to hear the good news and believe.

During the night Paul had a vision. He saw a man from Macedonia standing across the water and begging him, “Come over to Macedonia and help us!”
