But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit comes on you. Then you will be my witnesses in Jerusalem, in all Judea and Samaria, and to the farthest point on earth.”

So go and make disciples of all nations. Baptize them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit.

But then he said to them, “Go everywhere in the world and preach the good news to the whole creation.

through the power of signs and wonders, and through the power of the Spirit of God. I have now preached the good news about Christ to everyone from Jerusalem all the way around to Illyricum.

We are witnesses of these things, and so is the Holy Spirit, whom God has given to those who obey him.”

The apostles continued to testify with great power that the Lord Jesus had risen from the dead, and God’s grace worked so powerfully among them

Stephen was filled with God’s grace and power. He did great wonders and signs among the people.

But I ask, “Didn’t the people of Israel hear?” Of course they did. It is written, “Their voice has gone out into the whole earth, their words from one end of the world to the other.”

You must also be witnesses about me, because you’ve been with me from the beginning.

I’ve given you authority to stomp on snakes and scorpions, to destroy all the power of the enemy. Nothing will harm you.

John baptized with water, but in a few days, you’ll be baptized with the Holy Spirit.”

This good news of the kingdom will be preached in the whole world as a witness to all nations, and then the end will come.

God has raised this same Jesus back to life. We are all witnesses of that.

Now you need to tell everyone about what you’ve seen and heard.

and those who’d traveled with him from Galilee to Jerusalem saw him for many days. Now they are his witnesses to our people.

The angel answered, “The Holy Spirit will come upon you and the power of the Most High God will overshadow you, so that the holy one who is born will be called the Son of God.

You killed the author of life—but God raised him from the dead. We are witnesses of that.

But you must keep your faith steady and firm and not move away from the hope that the good news is offering you. This is the good news that you heard. It has been preached to every creature under heaven and I, Paul, am its servant.

I mean starting from when John began baptizing right through to when Jesus was taken up from us. The one we choose must be a witness with us that Jesus rose from the dead.”

Saul had agreed that Stephen should die. On that day an attack began against the church in Jerusalem. The believers, except for the apostles, were scattered throughout Judea and Samaria.

But they tried to convince him not to leave. They said, “Stay with us, because it’s nearly evening and the day is almost over.” So he went in to stay with them.
