When they got back, they went upstairs to the room where they were staying. Here’s a list of those who were there: Peter, John, James, and Andrew, Philip and Thomas, Bartholomew and Matthew, James the son of Alphaeus, Simon the Zealot, and Judas the son of James.

Then Peter stood up with the 11 apostles and spoke to the crowd in a loud voice. “My fellow Jews and all of you who live in Jerusalem,” he said, “let me explain what’s happening. Listen carefully to what I say.

Simon Peter and Thomas (who was also called Didymus) were there together with Nathanael from Cana in Galilee, the two sons of Zebedee, and two more disciples.

She asked Peter, “You’re not one of Jesus’ disciples too, are you?” “No, I’m not,” he answered.

Then Thomas, who was also called Didymus, said to the rest of the disciples, “Let’s go along, so we can die with him.”

He took Peter, James, and John along with him. He became very distressed, and he said to them,

Six days later Jesus took Peter, James, and John with him and led them up a high mountain. While they were up there all alone, his appearance was transformed.

Jesus only let Peter, James, and John, the brother of James, come with him.

As Jesus went on from there, he saw a man named Matthew sitting at a tax collection booth. “Follow me,” Jesus told him. So Matthew got up and followed him.

From the elder. To the lady, who has been chosen by God, and to her children. I love all of you in the truth, and I’m not the only one who loves you. So does everyone who knows the truth.
