I hope you’ll always be able to remember these things after I’m gone. I’ll try very hard to see that you do.

Even when we were with you, we gave you this rule: “Anyone who won’t work shouldn’t be allowed to eat.”

You know that we treated each of you the way a father treats his own children.

and envy; drunkenness, wild parties, and many other things like that. I warn you now, as I did before, that people who live like this won’t inherit God’s kingdom.

So be on your guard! Remember that for three years, I never stopped warning each of you as I wept over you night and day.

I’ve told you this so that when their time comes, you’ll remember that I warned you about them. I didn’t tell you this from the beginning because I was with you.

Do you have eyes that still don’t see, and ears that still don’t hear? Don’t you remember?

Don’t you understand yet? Don’t you remember the five loaves that fed the 5,000, and how many full baskets of leftover pieces you picked up?

In fact, when we were with you, we kept telling you that our enemies would make us suffer, and it has turned out that way, as you know very well.

Now you know what’s holding back the man of sin so that he will make his appearance at the right time.
