Regarding the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ and the time when we’ll go to be with him, we ask you, brothers and sisters,

He will send his angels to gather his chosen people from the north, south, east, and west—from all over the earth, right to the edges of the sky.

He will send out his angels with a loud trumpet call, and they will gather his chosen people from the north, south, east, and west—from one end of the sky to the other.

In the presence of God and of Christ Jesus, who will judge the living and the dead, and because he and his kingdom are coming, I’m giving you these instructions:

May he strengthen your hearts so that you’ll be holy and blameless in the presence of our God and Father when our Lord Jesus comes with all his holy ones.

After all, what is our hope? What is our joy? What is the crown that we will delight in when our Lord Jesus returns? Isn’t it you?

and all the nations will be gathered in front of him. He will separate the people into two groups, the way a shepherd separates the sheep from the goats.

It will all happen when the time has fully come, when God brings everything in heaven and on earth together under Christ.

Because God has shown you such mercy, brothers and sisters, I ask you to offer up your bodies to God while you are still alive. That will be a sacrifice that is holy and pleasing to God. It’s the right kind of worship to offer God.

The Son of Man is going to come with his angels in his Father’s glory, and he will deal with each person according to what they’ve done.

“Truly I tell you, some who are standing here right now will not die before they see the Son of Man coming in his kingdom.”

Now I want to talk about some other matters, brothers and sisters. We taught you how to live in a way that pleases God, and that’s how you’re living. But in the name of the Lord Jesus, we ask you and urge you to do that more and more.

We should always thank God for you, brothers and sisters. That’s only right, because your faith is growing more and more and your love for one another is increasing.
