God didn’t spare the angels when they sinned. Instead, he sent them to hell and chained them up in dark prisons. He’s holding them there until the day of judgment.

Some of the angels abandoned their positions of authority and didn’t stay where they belonged. The Lord is keeping those angels in darkness, bound with chains that last forever, until judgment day.

“Then he will say to those on his left, ‘Go away from me, you who are cursed, into the fire that burns forever that has been prepared for the devil and his angels!

God didn’t spare his own Son; instead, he gave him up for all of us. How will God not also, along with his Son, freely give us all things?

The devil who had deceived them was thrown into the lake of burning sulfur, where the beast and the false prophet had been thrown. They will all suffer day and night for ever and ever.

Jesus answered, “I saw Satan fall like lightning from heaven.

The person who does what is sinful belongs to the devil, because the devil has been sinning from the beginning. But the Son of God came to destroy the devil’s work.

Now angels are stronger and more powerful than these people, but even angels don’t insult heavenly beings when they bring judgment on them from the Lord.

God didn’t spare the world’s ungodly people long ago. He brought the flood on them. But Noah preached about the right way to live, and God kept him safe along with seven other people.

And they begged Jesus again and again not to order them to go into the Abyss.

You belong to your father, the devil, and you want to carry out your father’s wishes. From the beginning, the devil has been a murderer. He has never obeyed the truth because there’s no truth in him. When he lies, he speaks his native language, because he is a liar and the father of lies.

He shouted at the top of his voice, “Jesus, Son of the Most High God, what do you want with me? Swear by God that you won’t hurt me!”

“What do you want with us, Son of God?” they shouted. “It’s not time for us to be punished yet!”

They’re like wild waves of the sea—their shame rises up like foam. They’re like stars that don’t stay in place. God has reserved very great darkness for them forever.

Since all of this is true, then the Lord knows how to save godly people and keep them safe in times of testing. But he also knows how to keep ungodly people under guard until the day they will be judged and punished.

If God didn’t spare the natural branches, he won’t spare you either.
