And I heard a loud voice from the throne that said, “Look! God will now make his home among the people.

This is the covenant I will establish with the people of Israel after that time, says the Lord: I will put my laws in their minds and write them on their hearts. I will be their God, and they will be my people.

Don’t you know that together you are a body, which is the temple of the Holy Spirit, who is in you? You have received the Spirit from God. You don’t belong to yourselves;

If the Spirit of the one who raised Jesus from the dead is living in you, then the one who raised Christ from the dead will also give life to your bodies because of his Spirit who lives in you.

You’re also like living stones. As you come to Christ, you’re being built into a house for worship. There you will be holy priests and offer spiritual sacrifices that God will accept because of what Jesus Christ has done.

Guard what you have been trusted with—guard it with the help of the Holy Spirit who lives in us.

No one has ever seen God, but if we love one another, God lives in us, and his love is made complete in us.

He also says, “Where it was said to them, ‘You are not my people,’ there they will be called ‘children of the living God.’ ”

If the Spirit of God truly does live in you, you’re not ruled by your desires—you’re ruled by the Spirit. Anyone who doesn’t have the Spirit of Christ doesn’t belong to Christ.

You’re a building that’s being built on the apostles and prophets as its foundation. Christ Jesus himself is the cornerstone that has been laid down first

“No one can serve two masters. Either you’ll hate the first and love the second, or you’ll be devoted to the first and not care about the second. You can’t serve both God and money.

“Write this to the angel of the church in Ephesus: These are the words of the one who holds the seven stars in his right hand and walks among the seven golden lampstands.

Jesus answered, “Anyone who loves me will obey my teaching. My Father will love them, and we will come to them and make our home with them.

You can’t drink the cup of the Lord and the cup of demons too. You can’t have a part in both the Lord’s table and the table of demons.

And because you belong to Christ, you too are being built together to become a place where God can live through his Spirit.

so that if I have to put off my visit, you’ll know how people should act in God’s family, the church of the living God, which is the pillar and foundation of the truth.

Scripture says with good reason that God wants the spirit he put in us to belong only to him.

Then Jesus gave them an illustration. He said, “No one tears a piece out of a new garment to patch an old one. That would ruin the new garment, and the patch wouldn’t match the old one anyway.
