So don’t judge anything before the appointed time. Wait until the Lord returns, and he will bring what’s now hidden in the dark out into the light. He’ll show the real reasons why people do what they do. At that time God will give each person the praise they deserve.
No, a person is really a Jew if they’re one on the inside. True circumcision is when the Holy Spirit circumcises a person’s heart. It’s not when a person is circumcised according to the written law. A truly circumcised person receives praise from God, not from other people.
I’m not going to compare myself with those other people who praise themselves. When they measure themselves by themselves and compare themselves with themselves, they’re not being wise.
These have come to show that your faith is genuine. This will bring praise, honor, and glory to God when Jesus Christ returns. Your faith is worth even more than gold, because gold can be destroyed even after fire has made it pure.
I pray to God that you won’t do anything wrong—not so that people will see that I’ve passed the test, but so that you will do what is right, even if it seems that I’ve failed.
