Not that we would ever treat you harshly as believers; you’re strong in your own faith, and we work together with you for your joy.
Don’t act like dictators towards those who are under your care. Instead, be good examples to the flock.
Brothers and sisters, I want to remind you of the good news that I preached to you. You received it, you belong to it,
We recognize this because we’re guided by faith, not by what we can see.
The message we preach isn’t about ourselves. It’s about Jesus Christ as Lord, and about ourselves as your servants for his sake.
That’s true. But they were broken off because they didn’t believe. You stand only because you do believe. So don’t be proud; be careful.
Through him we have access, by faith, to that grace in which we are established, and we pride ourselves in the hope of the glory of God.
Suppose he then starts to beat the other slaves and to eat and drink with people who drink too much.
After all, what is Apollos? And what is Paul? Only servants who helped you to believe. The Lord has given each of us our own work to do.
I want us to encourage one another in the faith that we share.
In fact, you even put up with anyone who makes you a slave or uses you or takes advantage of you. You put up with those who claim to be better than you, and even with those who slap you in the face.
