You do gain a lot when you live a godly life. But you have to be happy with what you have.

Keep your lives free from the love of money, and be content with what you have, because God has said, “I’ll never leave you; I’ll never abandon you.”

If we have food and clothing, we should be happy with those.

Physical training has some value, but being godly has value in every way. It can help both in the life you’re now living and in the life to come.

As I see it, if I live, I live for Christ, and if I die, I get something even better than this life.

We know that in all things God works for the good of those who love him, who are called according to his purpose.

Then some soldiers asked him, “And what should we do?” John replied, “Don’t force people to give you money, don’t bring false charges against anybody, and be content with your pay.”

Our troubles are small and they last only for a short time, but they’re earning a glory for us that will last forever. That glory outweighs all our troubles.

Then he said to them, “Watch out! Be careful not to get greedy, because life isn’t about how much a person has.”
