“No one lights a lamp and then hides it or puts it under a bowl. Instead, they put a lamp on its stand, so that those who come in can see its light.

A leader must also have a good reputation among those who are outside the church. If it turns out that he’s done a lot of wrong things, he’ll be embarrassed, and the devil will be able to ruin his work.

In the same way, let your light shine so that others can see it. Then they’ll see the good things you do and praise your Father who is in heaven.

You’ll be filled with the fruit of right living that comes from following Jesus Christ. All of these things bring glory and praise to God.

Then I heard a voice from heaven say, “Write this: Blessed are the dead who die as believers in the Lord from now on.” “Yes,” says the Spirit, “they will rest from their labor, and they’ll be rewarded for what they’ve done.”
