I command you in the sight of God and Christ Jesus and the chosen angels to follow these instructions. Treat everyone the same and don’t favor one person over another.
God didn’t spare the angels when they sinned. Instead, he sent them to hell and chained them up in dark prisons. He’s holding them there until the day of judgment.
In the presence of God and of Christ Jesus, who will judge the living and the dead, and because he and his kingdom are coming, I’m giving you these instructions:
In the sight of God, who gives life to everything, and in the sight of Christ Jesus, who told the truth when he was a witness in front of Pontius Pilate, I give you a command.
Some of the angels abandoned their positions of authority and didn’t stay where they belonged. The Lord is keeping those angels in darkness, bound with chains that last forever, until judgment day.
Keep reminding God’s people about these things. Warn them in the presence of God not to argue about words. Those arguments don’t have any value. All they do is destroy everyone who listens to them.
“Then he will say to those on his left, ‘Go away from me, you who are cursed, into the fire that burns forever that has been prepared for the devil and his angels!
they too will drink the wine of God’s great anger! His wine has been poured full strength into the cup of his anger. They will be burned with flaming sulfur, and the holy angels and the Lamb will witness their punishment.
So the spies questioned Jesus. “Teacher,” they said, “we know that you speak and teach what is right. We know you don’t favor one person over another. You teach the way of God truthfully.
If anyone is ashamed of me and my words, then the Son of Man will be ashamed of that person when he comes in his glory and in the glory of the Father and the holy angels.
