But if they won’t listen to you, return with one or two others. Scripture says, ‘Every matter must be proved by the words of two or three witnesses.’

This will be my third visit to you. Scripture says, “Every matter must be proved by the testimony of two or three witnesses.”

An elder must be blameless. He must be faithful to his wife, and his children must be believers and not give anyone a reason to say that they’re wild and disobedient.

If anyone broke the law of Moses, that person would die without mercy if two or three witnesses gave evidence against them.

“I told them that’s not the way Romans do things. We don’t judge anyone before they’ve had the chance to face the people bringing charges against them and answer for themselves.

Your own Law says that if two different people give the same evidence about something, their testimony can be trusted.

and they sent Barnabas and Saul with their gift to the elders.

Pilate came out to them. He asked, “What charges are you bringing against this man?”

Don’t fail to use the gift that the Holy Spirit gave you through a prophecy from God when the elders placed their hands on you.

Elders who lead the church well should be honored both with respect and with financial support. This is especially true of elders who preach and teach.
