We don’t need to write to you about your love for one another, because God himself has taught you to love one another.

We’ve heard from the beginning that we should love one another.

Love one another deeply. Honor one another more than yourselves.

And this is his command: to believe in the name of his Son, Jesus Christ, and to love one another as he commanded us.

Here’s the command God has given us: Anyone who loves God must also love their brother and sister.

Keep on loving one another as brothers and sisters.

Now we don’t need to write to you, brothers and sisters, about times and dates.

All the believers were one in heart and mind. No one claimed that anything they owned was theirs. Instead, they shared everything they had.

Anyone who loves their brother and sister lives in the light. There’s nothing in them that will make them fall into sin.

To godliness, add kindness. And to kindness, add love.

Most of all, love one another deeply, because love covers over many sins.

Finally, I want all of you to agree with one another. Be understanding, love one another, be kind and tender, be humble.

“This is the covenant I will establish with the people of Israel after that time, says the Lord. I will put my laws in their minds and write them on their hearts.”

But the Father will send the Helper or Paraclete, the Holy Spirit, in my name to help you. The Spirit will teach you all things and remind you of everything I’ve said to you.

And the second is like it: ‘Love your neighbor as you love yourself.’

I don’t really need to write to you about giving in order to help the Lord’s people.

So all of us who are mature in the faith should see things this way. If you think differently about something, God will make that clear to you.
