Now I want to talk about some other matters, brothers and sisters. We taught you how to live in a way that pleases God, and that’s how you’re living. But in the name of the Lord Jesus, we ask you and urge you to do that more and more.

Then you’ll be able to lead a life that is worthy of the Lord and please him in every way. You’ll bear fruit in every good thing you do, you’ll get to know God better,

We should always thank God for you, brothers and sisters. That’s only right, because your faith is growing more and more and your love for one another is increasing.

So grow in the grace and knowledge of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. May he receive glory both now and forever. Amen.

Don’t forget to do good and share with others, because God is pleased with offerings like those.

And so I pray that your love will grow more and more in knowledge and understanding.

May the Lord make your love grow and overflow for one another and for everyone else, just as ours does for you.

I press on toward the goal to win the prize, because God has called me toward heaven in Christ Jesus in order to win it.

and God will give us anything we ask for. That’s because we obey his commands and do what pleases him.

As a prisoner of the Lord, I ask you to live a life worthy of the purposes God has chosen you to fulfill.

Finally, brothers and sisters, be joyful! Work to make everything right with one another. Encourage one another and agree with each other. Live in peace. And the God of love and peace will be with you.

My dear brothers and sisters, remain strong in the faith. Don’t let anything move you. Always give yourselves completely to the work of the Lord, because you know that in the Lord, your work isn’t for nothing.

Now I want to talk about some other matters. Brothers and sisters, pray for us, that the Lord’s message will spread quickly and that others will honor it just as you have.

Regarding the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ and the time when we’ll go to be with him, we ask you, brothers and sisters,

So then, just as you received Christ Jesus as Lord, keep on living your lives in him.

But no matter what happens, live in a way that brings honor to the good news about Christ. Then, whether I come and see you or only hear about you, I’ll know that you’re standing firm together in the one Spirit and that you’re fighting together as a unit to defend the good news.

He cuts off any of my branches that don’t bear fruit, and he trims every branch that does bear fruit so that it will bear even more fruit.

You know the directions we gave you by the authority of the Lord Jesus.

So we try our best to make sure that he’ll be pleased with us, whether we’re at home in our bodies or away from them.

Those who are under the power of their desires can’t please God.

I ask you, brothers and sisters, to listen carefully to the challenges and encouragement that I’ve offered you briefly.

Without faith it’s impossible to please God, because those who come to God must believe that he exists and that he rewards those who try hard to find him.

So don’t be foolish. Instead, understand what the Lord wants.

But that’s not the way of life you learned

I appeal to you by the humbleness and gentleness of Christ—I, Paul, the one you think is timid when I’m face to face with you, but bold when I’m away from you.

As people who work together with God, we ask you not to receive God’s grace and then do nothing with it.

Brothers and sisters, I want to remind you of the good news that I preached to you. You received it, you belong to it,

I passed on to you what I received from the Lord. On the night the Lord Jesus was handed over to his enemies, he took bread,

I haven’t let anyone keep me from telling you everything God wants you to do.

In the presence of God and of Christ Jesus, who will judge the living and the dead, and because he and his kingdom are coming, I’m giving you these instructions:

I command you in the sight of God and Christ Jesus and the chosen angels to follow these instructions. Treat everyone the same and don’t favor one person over another.

Brothers and sisters, if someone is caught in a sin, then you who live by the Spirit should correct that person. But do it in a gentle way, and be careful, because you could be tempted too.

Now we ask you, brothers and sisters, to recognize the godly leaders who work hard among you, who care for you in the Lord and correct you.

But you, brothers and sisters, don’t ever get tired of doing what is good.
