Set an example for them in everything by doing what is good. When you teach, be honest and serious,

Don’t act like dictators towards those who are under your care. Instead, be good examples to the flock.

Don’t let anyone look down on you because you’re a young person. Instead, set an example for the believers in what you say and in how you live, how you love, and in what you believe. Show the believers how to be pure.

The Lord’s message rang out from you, and not just in Macedonia and Achaia. Your faith in God has become known everywhere, so we don’t have to say anything about it.

From there we traveled to Philippi, which is a Roman colony and the most important city in that part of Macedonia. We stayed there several days.

From Paul, an apostle of Christ Jesus by the will of God, and from Timothy our brother. To the members of God’s church in Corinth and to all of God’s holy people everywhere in southern Greece.

When they got back, they went upstairs to the room where they were staying. Here’s a list of those who were there: Peter, John, James, and Andrew, Philip and Thomas, Bartholomew and Matthew, James the son of Alphaeus, Simon the Zealot, and Judas the son of James.

You do love all of God’s family throughout Macedonia. But we’re still urging you, brothers and sisters, to love one another more and more.

I know how much you want to do that. I’ve been bragging about you to the people in Macedonia. I’ve been telling them that you who live in Achaia have been ready to give since last year. Your eagerness has stirred up most of them to give as well.

After this, Paul left Athens and went to Corinth.

But when Gallio became the governor of Achaia, the Jews of Corinth got together to oppose Paul. They brought him into court

After all this had happened, Paul decided to go over to Macedonia and Achaia and then on to Jerusalem. “And after I’ve been there,” he said, “I must also visit Rome.”

The believers in Macedonia and Achaia have kindly taken an offering to help the poor among the Lord’s people in Jerusalem.
