Radiate New Testament

Be shepherds of God’s flock that is under your care. Watch over them, not because you have to, but because you want to. That’s what God wants you to do. Don’t do it to try to get money in dishonest ways, but because you really want to serve.

Because a church leader takes care of God’s family, he must be blameless. He must not push people around, or get angry easily, or get drunk, or try to get money by cheating people.

In the same way, deacons must be worthy of respect. They must be honest. they must not drink too much wine, and they must not try to get money by cheating other people.

Remind God’s people to follow their rulers and authorities and to be ready to do what is good.

He must not get drunk or push people around; instead, he needs to be gentle. He must not be a person who likes to argue or who loves money.

Who serves as a soldier but has to pay his own expenses? Who plants a vineyard but doesn’t get to eat any of its grapes? Who takes care of a flock but doesn’t get to drink any of the milk from the sheep?

These teachers will be so greedy that they’ll make up stories to take advantage of you. But they’ve been under a sentence of death for a long time. Their destruction has not been sleeping.

Make sure that no one misses out on God’s grace and that no bitter plant grows up, because if it does, it will cause trouble and make many people impure.

Those people need to be stopped. They’re disrupting entire families by teaching things they shouldn’t, and they’re doing it just to try to cheat people.

“Don’t be afraid, little flock, your Father is pleased to give you the kingdom.

But I didn’t want to do anything without your agreement. Any favor you do for me must be done because you want to do it, not because you have to. Maybe

He gave himself for us to set us free from all wrongdoing and purify us, so that we can be his very own people and be eager to do what is good.

So I’m eager to preach the good news to you who live in Rome as well.

He asked, “Why are you crying? Why are you breaking my heart? I’m ready to be put in prison. I’m even ready to die in Jerusalem for the Lord Jesus.”

I know that after I leave, savage wolves will come in among you. They won’t spare any of the sheep.
