Since Christ suffered in his body, protect yourselves by having the same attitude that he did, because anyone who suffers in their body is finished with sin.

People who belong to Christ Jesus have nailed their wrong desires to his cross. They don’t want to follow them anymore.

Christ also suffered once for sins. Someone who did right suffered for those who did wrong, in order to bring you to God. Jesus was put to death in the body, but he was made alive in the Spirit.

In the same way, consider yourselves to be dead as far as sin is concerned, but consider yourselves alive in Christ Jesus as far as God is concerned.

I’ve been crucified with Christ. I’m not the one living anymore. Christ is living in me. I do continue to live in this body, but I do that by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave himself for me.

That’s because anyone who has died has been set free from sin.

So put on all of God’s armor, so that when evil days come, you’ll be able to stand up to anything. After you’ve done everything you can, you’ll still be standing.

In your relationships with one another, have the same attitude that Jesus did.

No! As far as sin is concerned, we’re dead. So how can we keep on sinning?

Think about how he endured such opposition from sinners, so that you don’t get worn out and give up.

Anyone who enters God’s rest also rests from their own work, just as God rested from his.

This is what God wants you to do. Remember, Christ suffered for you, and he left you an example that he expects you to follow.

Jesus said to the man with the weak and twisted hand, “Stand up front here.”
