Dear friends, in this world you’re outsiders who are living away from their land. So don’t give in to your wrong desires, which fight against your soul.
All of these people were still living by faith when they died. They didn’t receive the things God had promised; they only saw them and welcomed them from a long way off. They admitted that they were outsiders and strangers on earth.
So stay away from the bad things that young people often want. Try hard to do what’s right and to have faith, love, and peace. Do these things together with all those who call on the Lord from a pure heart.
Dear friends, since we have these promises from God, let’s purify ourselves from everything that could make our bodies and spirits impure. Let’s be completely holy, to honor God.
Because God has shown you such mercy, brothers and sisters, I ask you to offer up your bodies to God while you are still alive. That will be a sacrifice that is holy and pleasing to God. It’s the right kind of worship to offer God.

You call on a Father who judges each person’s work without favoring one person over another. So live with the highest respect for God during your time as outsiders here.
Instead, we should write to them and tell them that they must not eat food that has been offered to statues of gods. They must not be sexually immoral, they must not eat meat that still has blood in it, and they must not drink blood.
From Peter, an apostle of Jesus Christ. To God’s chosen people, who are living away from their land. You’re scattered throughout the provinces of Pontus, Galatia, Cappadocia, Asia, and Bithynia.
