The Spirit of Christ in them was telling about the sufferings of the Messiah and the glory that would follow. They wanted to find out when and how this salvation would come.
It never came simply because a prophet wanted it to. Instead, the Holy Spirit guided the prophets as they spoke. Although the prophets were human, what they said came from God.
If the Spirit of God truly does live in you, you’re not ruled by your desires—you’re ruled by the Spirit. Anyone who doesn’t have the Spirit of Christ doesn’t belong to Christ.

Jesus said to them, “This is what I told you while I was still with you. Everything that is written about me in the Law of Moses, the Prophets, and the Psalms must come true.”
The Son of Man will go just as it is written about him, but woe to the one who hands him over! It would have been better for him if he he’d never been born.”
