Husbands, be understanding of your wives. Treat them with respect, remembering the ways in which they’re physically weaker than you. Honor them as people who will share the gracious gift of life with you. Otherwise, God won’t answer your prayers.

Husbands, love your wives and don’t be mean to them.

Anyone who doesn’t provide for their own relatives, and especially for their own family, has denied the faith and is worse than someone who doesn’t believe.

A husband should satisfy his wife’s needs, and a wife should satisfy her husband’s needs.

Then Jesus said to his disciples, “I tell you, don’t worry about your life and what you will eat, and don’t worry about your body and what you will wear.

“Still another said, ‘I just got married, so I can’t come.’

The man runs away because he’s a hired hand and doesn’t care about the sheep.

I don’t want you to have anything to worry about. A single man is concerned about the things of the Lord. He wants to know how he can please the Lord.

So he’s pulled in two directions. An unmarried or single woman is concerned about the things of the Lord. She wants to be devoted to the Lord in both body and spirit. But a married woman is concerned about the things of this world. She wants to know how she can please her husband.
