or thieves or greedy people, or those who are often drunk or tell lies or cheat, will not inherit God’s kingdom.

Outside the city are those who are impure, those who practice witchcraft, those who commit sexual sins and murder, those who worship idols, and everyone who loves and does what is false.

But others will be thrown into the lake of fire that burns with sulfur: cowards, unbelievers, and murderers; those who are impure or commit sexual sins or practice witchcraft; those who worship idols; and all liars. The lake of fire is the second death.”

Don’t you know that together you are a body, which is the temple of the Holy Spirit, who is in you? You have received the Spirit from God. You don’t belong to yourselves;

I didn’t mean the people of this world who sin that way. And I wasn’t saying you should stay away from all people who are greedy, or who cheat others, or who worship statues of gods. To do that, you’d have to leave the world entirely!

Marriage should be honored by everyone and the marriage bed should be kept pure. God will judge anyone who commits adultery or any other sexual sin.

God is showing his anger from heaven against all the godless and wrong things that people do. People are so bad that they say no to the truth about God,

Try your best to live at peace with everyone. Do everything you can to be holy, because without holiness no one will see the Lord.

Brothers and sisters, here’s what I’m telling you. Bodies made of flesh and blood can’t inherit the kingdom of God. Things that perish can’t share in what never perishes.

Don’t let anyone fool you. “Having bad friends turns a good person into a bad one.”

Don’t you know that together you are God’s temple? Don’t you know that God’s Spirit lives among you?

And make sure that no one is sexually immoral or godless like Esau, who sold his rights as the oldest son for a single meal.

“Then the King will speak to those on his right and say, ‘Come, you who are blessed by my Father, take what is yours. Receive the kingdom that has been prepared for you since the world was created.

It’s actually reported that there is a sexual sin among you that’s so bad even people who don’t know God wouldn’t tolerate it. I’m told that a man is sleeping with his father’s wife.

Don’t let anyone fool you, my dear brothers and sisters.

Don’t you know that in a race, all the runners run, but only one gets the prize? So run in a way that will get you the prize.

Everyone who has left houses or fields, brothers or sisters, father or mother, or husband or wife and children because of me will receive 100 times as much. They will also receive eternal life.

Paul talked about how to live a godly life, about how people should control themselves, and about the time when God will judge everyone. This made Felix afraid. He said, “That’s enough for now! You may go, but when I find the time, I’ll send for you again.”

Jesus replied, “Keep watch! Be careful that you are not fooled. Many will come in my name and claim, ‘I’m the one!’ And they will say, ‘The time is near!’ Do not follow them.

“Now I commit you to God and to the message about his grace. It can build you up and give you a share in what God plans to give all his people.

So let me clarify in this letter what I meant: You should stay away from anyone who claims to be a believer but who commits sexual sins, or is greedy, or worships idols, or tells lies about others, or gets drunk, or cheats. Don’t even eat with people like that.

So keep far away from sexual sins. All the other sins a person commits are outside the body. But if a person commits sexual sins, those are sins against their own body.

I’m afraid that when I come my God will humble me before you. I’ll be grieved about many who have sinned earlier and who haven’t turned away from the impurity, sexual sin, and wild living that they’ve gotten involved in.

Don’t get this wrong: You can’t outsmart God. Whatever you plant, that’s what you’re going to harvest.

So put to death anything that comes from your wrong desires: sexual immorality, impurity, lust, evil desires, and greed, which is idolatry.

Dear children, don’t let anyone lead you astray. The person who does what is right is holy, just as Christ is holy.
