Get rid of the old yeast. Then you can be like a new batch of dough without yeast. That’s what you really are already, because Christ, our Passover Lamb, has been sacrificed for us.

You were taught not to live the way you used to, but to get rid of that old way of life, which was corrupted by its deceptive desires.

The next day John saw Jesus coming toward him. He said, “Look, the Lamb of God who takes away the sin of the world!

They were all shouting together, “The Lamb who was put to death is worthy to receive power and wealth and wisdom and strength and honor and glory and praise!”

Because there is one loaf, we who are many are one body, because we all share the one loaf.

It was about noon on Preparation Day of Passover Week. “Here is your king,” Pilate said to the Jews.

On the first day of the Feast of Unleavened Bread, when it was time to sacrifice the Passover lamb, Jesus’ disciples asked him, “Where do you want us to go and prepare the Passover meal for you?”

When he saw Jesus walking by, he said, “Look, the Lamb of God!”

God will judge those outside. But as for those inside, as Scripture says, “Throw out that person who’s doing wrong!”

Jesus told them one more story. “The kingdom of heaven is like yeast,” he said. “A woman mixed it into 60 pounds of flour, and the yeast worked its way through all of that dough.”

God provided him as a sacrifice to purify us through the shedding of his blood, and we receive the benefits of his sacrifice by faith. God did all this to show that what he does is right. He was merciful and overlooked sins from before. But now, in our own time,
