No one can lay any other foundation than the one that has already been laid, and that foundation is Jesus Christ.

You’re a building that’s being built on the apostles and prophets as its foundation. Christ Jesus himself is the cornerstone that has been laid down first

I’ve always wanted to preach the good news where Christ is not known. I don’t want to build on someone else’s foundation.

“Suppose a master puts one of his slaves in charge of the other slaves and tells him to give them their food at the right time. The master would want to choose a faithful and wise slave to do that.

The foundations of the city walls were decorated with every kind of jewel. The first foundation was made out of jasper. The second was made out of sapphire. The third was made out of agate. The fourth was made out of emerald.

Others might not think of me as an apostle, but I’m certainly one to you! You’re the proof that I am the Lord’s apostle.

“So then, everyone who hears my words and puts them into practice is like a wise person who built a house on a rock.

If anyone speaks, they should do it as someone who’s speaking God’s own words. If anyone serves, they should do it with the strength that God provides. That way God will be praised in all things through Jesus Christ. May he receive the glory and power for ever and ever. Amen.

Do your best to please God. Be a worker who doesn’t need to be ashamed, one who handles the message of truth correctly.

Tell Archippus, “Be sure to complete the work the Lord has given you to do.”

By the grace that has been given to me, I say to every one of you, don’t think of yourself more highly than you should. Have a reasonable view of yourself, based on the faith God has given to each of you.

Through him we received grace to become apostles to the Gentiles and through that grace to bring them to obedience to God by trusting in Jesus. We do this to bring glory to him.

Apollos then wanted to go to Achaia, and the brothers and sisters encouraged him to do that. They wrote to the disciples there and asked them to welcome him. When he arrived, he was a great help to those who by God’s grace had become believers.

So make sure that the light inside you is not darkness.

My brothers and sisters, most of you shouldn’t become teachers, because you know that those of us who do teach will be judged more strictly.

Be careful how you live and what you believe. If you keep doing what I’ve told you, you’ll save yourself and those who listen to you.

I work hard for that with all the strength of Christ that works powerfully within me.

But I’ve written to you very boldly about some things to remind you of them again, because of the grace God gave me

Jesus replied, “Keep watch! Be careful that you are not fooled. Many will come in my name and claim, ‘I’m the one!’ And they will say, ‘The time is near!’ Do not follow them.

The wall of the city had 12 foundations, and the names of the 12 apostles of the Lamb were written on them.

And I won’t brag about the work that others have done. If I did, I’d be bragging more than I should. I hope that my work among you will greatly increase as your faith continues to grow.

Remember that while our Lord is waiting patiently to return, people are being saved. Our dear brother Paul also wrote to you about this with the wisdom that God gave him.
