Love never fails. But prophecies will end; unknown languages will go silent; knowledge will disappear.

These three things will never end: faith, hope, and love. But the greatest of these is love.

If a person believes in Christ Jesus, it doesn’t matter whether they’re circumcised or not. The only thing that matters is faith expressing itself through love.

All of them were filled with the Holy Spirit, and they began to speak in languages they’d never learned. The Spirit gave them the ability to do this.

By calling this covenant “new,” God made the first one outdated. And what is outdated and obsolete will soon disappear.

But when what is complete arrives, the things that are not complete will disappear.

To another he gives the power to do miracles, or to prophesy, or to tell spirits apart, or to speak in different kinds of languages they hadn’t known before. And to still others he gives the ability to explain what was said in those languages.

Then Paul placed his hands on them, and the Holy Spirit came on them. They spoke in unknown languages and they prophesied.

But I have prayed for you, Simon, that your faith will not fail. When you have turned back, help your brothers to be strong.”

Brothers and sisters, you should be eager to prophesy, and you shouldn’t stop people from speaking in unknown languages.

In the church at Antioch there were prophets and teachers. Among them were Barnabas, Simeon (also called Niger), Lucius from Cyrene, and Manaen, who’d been brought up with Herod, the ruler of Galilee. Saul was among them too.

Those who think they know something still don’t know as they should.
