That’s why many of you are weak and sick, and a number of you have died.

‘I warn and correct those I love. So be eager to do what’s right and turn away from your sins.

We believe that Jesus died and rose again, and so we also believe that God will bring back with Jesus his followers who have already died.

Listen! I’m telling you a mystery. We’re not all going to die, but we will all be changed.

Still, when the Lord judges us in this way, he’s correcting us so that we won’t be judged in the end along with the rest of the world.

“David carried out God’s purpose in his own generation, but when he died, he was buried with his people and his body rotted away.

Then he fell on his knees and cried out, “Lord, don’t hold this sin against them!” After he’d said this, he fell asleep.

Whoever eats and drinks must recognize the body of Christ. If they don’t, they’ll bring judgment upon themselves.

We should think more carefully about what we’re doing. Then we wouldn’t be found guilty for this.
