Thy folk they break in pieces, Lord, thine heritage oppress:
For these are they who Jacob have devoured cruelly; And they his habitation have caused waste to lie.
Thus said they in their hearts, Let us destroy them out of hand: They burnt up all the synagogues of God within the land.
Yea, for thy sake we're kill'd all day, counted as slaughter-sheep.
These workers of iniquity do they not know at all, That they my people eat as bread, and on God do not call?
Lest that the enemy my soul should, like a lion, tear, In pieces rending it, while there is no deliverer.
