How long, O mighty God, shall they who lewd and wicked be, How long shall they who wicked are thus triumph haughtily?

They are corrupt; their talk of wrong both lewd and lofty is.

For thou the God art of my strength; why thrusts thou me thee fro'? For th' enemy's oppression why do I mourning go?

How long, Lord, wilt thou hide thyself? for ever, in thine ire? And shall thine indignation burn like unto a fire?

O Lord of hosts, almighty God, how long shall kindled be Thy wrath against the prayer made by thine own folk to thee?

How long, Lord, shall thine anger last? wilt thou still keep the same? And shall thy fervent jealousy burn like unto a flame?
