To brethren strange, to mother's sons an alien I became.
I was a scorn to all my foes, and to my friends a fear; And specially reproach'd of those that were my neighbours near: When they me saw they from me fled.
My lovers and my friends do stand at distance from my sore; And those do stand aloof that were kinsmen and kind before.
Wherewith thy raging enemies reproach'd, O Lord, think on; Wherewith they have reproach'd the steps of thine anointed one.
All blessing to the Lord our God let be ascribed then: For evermore so let it be. Amen, yea, and amen.
