Lord, in thy wrath rebuke me not; Nor in thy hot rage chasten me.
In thy great indignation, O Lord, rebuke me not; Nor on me lay thy chast'ning hand, in thy displeasure hot.
The Lord hath me chastised sore, but not to death giv'n over.
Give ear unto me when I call, God of my righteousness: Have mercy, hear my pray'r; thou hast enlarg'd me in distress.
Help, Lord, because the godly man doth daily fade away; And from among the sons of men the faithful do decay.
Then shall he speak to them in wrath, in rage he vex them shall.
