Them slay not, lest my folk forget; but scatter them abroad By thy strong pow'r; and bring them down, O thou our shield and God.
Yet thou my shield and glory art, th' uplifter of mine head.
So God shall thee destroy for aye, remove thee, pluck thee out Quite from thy house, out of the land of life he shall thee root.
'Mong nations to o'erthrow their seed, and scatter in each land.
For God the Lord's a sun and shield: he'll grace and glory give; And will withhold no good from them that uprightly do live.
See God our shield, look on the face of thine anointed dear.
Like sheep for meat thou gavest us; 'mong heathen cast we be.
The Lord doth take my part with them that help to succour me: Therefore on those that do me hate I my desire shall see.
