Whoe'er they be that in their wealth their confidence do pitch, And boast themselves, because they are become exceeding rich:
Lo, this the man is that did not make God his strength at all: But he in his abundant wealth his confidence did place; And he took strength unto himself from his own wickedness.
Trust ye not in oppression, in robb'ry be not vain; On wealth set not your hearts, when as increased is your gain.
Each day they wrest my words; their thoughts 'gainst me are all for ill.
But shall they by iniquity escape thy judgments so? O God, with indignation down do thou the people throw.
When he shall evil tidings hear, he shall not be afraid: His heart is fix'd, his confidence upon the Lord is stay'd.
His heart is firmly stablished, afraid he shall not be, Until upon his enemies he his desire shall see.
