His loving-kindness yet the Lord command will in the day, His song's with me by night; to God, by whom I live, I'll pray:
And in his glory excellent let all his saints rejoice: Let them to him upon their beds aloud lift up their voice.
When I do thee upon my bed remember with delight, And when on thee I meditate in watches of the night.
I bless the Lord, because he doth by counsel me conduct; And in the seasons of the night my reins do me instruct.
As Hermon's dew, the dew that doth on Sion' hills descend: For there the blessing God commands, life that shall never end.
Thou art my King: for Jacob, Lord, deliv'rances command.
By night my song I call to mind, and commune with my heart; My sp'rit did carefully enquire how I might ease my smart.
From heav'n he shall send down, and me from his reproach defend That would devour me: God his truth and mercy forth shall send.
The Lord's my light and saving health, who shall make me dismay'd? My life's strength is the Lord, of whom then shall I be afraid?
Thou art my hiding-place, thou shalt from trouble keep me free: Thou with songs of deliverance about shalt compass me.
Thou hast put far from me my friends, thou mad'st them to abhor me; And I am so shut up, that I find no evasion for me.
Waters had cover'd us, our soul had sunk beneath the stream.
